The best dermatologists in the Triangle area. I have been a patient of the Dermatology & Skin Care Center since 2005. I recommend them highly. The Skin Care Center not only offers state of the art procedures, they are affordable. The staff and doctors listen carefully to your concerns and recommend only what they think you need to address your problem. Pleasant and professional at all times.*
My daughter and I are both patients of Southern Dermatology. Dr. Challgren is so patient with Callie and has helped us really understand treatment options for her skin condition! I also want to say a big “Thank You!” to Dr. Boyse and Jill Jordan, the Neocutis representative – they recommended Neocutis Micro-Firm, and the sun-damaged skin on my chest and neck looks smoother and healthier after only a few days!*
This is the best dermatologist in Raleigh! I’ve dealt with eczema my whole life and been to many practices in Raleigh and Durham and this practice is the best! They have helped me come up with a wonderful treatment plan and go the extra mile several times a week to accommodate me and my infant son when I come in for light treatment. Tracy is wonderful and the nurse staff is so great. I’d give them 10 stars if possible!*
The Service at the Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center never fails to amaze me. Everyone that I have encountered there is so courteous and pleasant. I will definitely continue my services for all of my aesthetic needs here. I highly recommend them for any of your aesthetic needs. You see immediate results and if you have any questions at all, they take time out and give you detailed information on the services in question.*
This is the best Dermatology practice in the Triangle. I have been going there off and on for years and cant say enough about their friendliness and professionalism. Great doctors, great staff.*
Wonderful advice, care, attention. Highly recommend!*
The staff is friendly and you feel very comfortable about asking questions. You’re sure to get the best advice and recommended the best products. My experiences at the Center were extraordinary and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone to receive services at the Aesthetic & Laser Suite, really!*
My insurance changed about a year ago and I could no longer see Dr. Laura and I realized how wonderful she is compared to other dermatologists in the area. I have severe plaque psoriasis and have struggled to find ANY medication that even slightly helped. Since working with Laura we have finally found a medication that works wonders, Stellara. Originally I had to come into the office every 3 months to get the shot. The copay for most insurances isn’t cheap for a specialist… and when I mentioned this to her she told me that she really only needed to see me once a year for blood work and I could come and get the shot with a nurse to avoid the copay (as long as I promised to call if anything weird was going on). THEN after about a year of that, approved with my insurance me being able to give myself the shot at home. This way, I see her once a year and call her with any problems. Since changing insurances the new doctors I have met with want me to come in for the shot and see them every three months… which is really just a way to for them to make money in my eyes. I have had the same condition for going on 20 years and have been giving myself the Stellara shot at home for 2+ years… there is no reason I could see (that isnt monetary) for any dermatologist to see otherwise. I recently changed back to the previous insurance that Southern Derm accepts and I cant wait to make an appointment and make Laura my dermatologist again. As to office atmosphere- mostly adults… not really “kid friendly” when it comes to things to keep them busy (which doesn’t really affect me)… never have had to wait a long time…. easy parking…. and friendly nursing/ scheduling staff!*
Dr. Challgren is a very good dermatologist. He is conservative in his medical recommendations and very friendly and caring. He has done amazing things for the overall look of my skin. Highly recommend him.*
I became a patient at Southern Dermatology (formerly The Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center, PA) when my original doctor in Chapel Hill suggested I find someone closer to my home and work. I needed to have a skin condition addressed in urgent order. I searched around various online media and I came across Southern Dermatology. I called their office on Lake Boone Trail and asked if they were taking on new patients. The person that had answered said that they were. When I verified the type of insurance that I had, an appointment was scheduled for me. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by the front desk person. After getting the obligatory paperwork out of the way and waiting for a short period in the waiting room, I was called in. The nurse asked me various questions to help determine my condition, etc. Then, after a short wait, Dr. Challgren walked in and introduced himself. He recommended the appropriate treatment and I have been under that treatment for the past six weeks. Since then, I have gotten to know nearly the entire staff and I can vouch that these are some of the nicest and most professional individuals that I have met. I would highly recommend this practice for their ability to address even the most complex dermatological issues. My experience has been excellent!*
